Simon Graeme
Horror and Dark Fantasy Author
Simon is an author and educator born 1976 in rural Ohio. Growing up in poverty gave him a dark and gritty view of the world. Growing up in a real haunted house gave him the permanent stain of the macabre that dominates his writing. There are still things that scare him, but the bar is pretty high. Some of his biggest influences include Brian Lumley, Clive Barker, and Stephen King. Simon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus in Creative Writing and is well on his way to an MFA. Simon worked as Managing Editor of Prose for the Oddville Press, and received honorable mention in L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future 2015. After working in the retail mines and then the corporate gulag, Simon foolishly believed teaching high school would be less horrific. Not only was he wrong, but he quickly realized the only way out was to have a stroke and become disabled. These days, he lives with his wife and youngest son in southern Illinois writing full time. He is best known for the Crusades-inspired dark fantasy series, The Black Crusade and the urban fantasy/cosmic horror series Freaktown. Simon also runs the Facebook horror fan group Dark Fiction Addiction, a place where fans and authors of horror gather to celebrate all things creepy.
